PACU or Pre-OP

Hi new SRNA here wanting to know if PACU or Pre-OP would be most beneficial experience for CRNA. My first year is online so trying to maintain a good work/school balance as opposed to more ICU experience, which would be better experience to have as a CRNA? Which also would have better hours to study?

I thought ICU experience was required? I work pre op/pacu now and work with a lot of CRNA's. I'd definitely say PACU would be better than preop for experience.

Hey Toaster! Congrats on your CRNA school acceptance! That's a HUGE accomplishment and we're sending you a big, virtual high-five!

Quick tip-- PLEASE confirm with your program before leaving the ICU!

If I'm reading your comment correctly- it sounds like you've gained acceptance to school but haven't started your program yet, and you're looking to leave the ICU to enjoy some "down time" before starting school.

If so-- again I repeat- confirm with your program that you can do so! Many schools have requirements that you stay full-time in the ICU until matriculation.

(Also- if you instead mean that you're already in school, and are looking for part-time work while being an SRNA, confirm that they don't have restrictions or requirements about that, too)

Cheering you on!
