Hello all! I am a new graduate interviewing in the PACU. I did an externship in the PACU during nursing school so I have a good idea of the role of the nurse in this setting. The PACU that I am interviewing in is in a large hospital with over 60 beds.
I am trying to be as prepared as possible for the interview because I REALLLY want the position! Can someone try to give me some idea of some of the questions that might be asked? Also what qualities are important for PACU nurses to have? Also, any questions you think that I should ask about the position that will be helpful.
Thank you so much! I appreciate your time!!

very good assessment skills! Knowledge of side effects with the common medications used. Assessing and responding quick to a patients rapid decline with breathing, bleeding, cardiac, mental status change and other types of rapid decline.
oh, and questions for the interview would be nurse to patient ratio, who will be your preceptor, could you possibly train with more than one nurse.
