Overseas nursing

I am currently a first year nursing student at Northumbria University in England, UK. Myself and a friend are looking to travel to Australia next year to complete the final 3 month placement, in our second year of study. We are looking for the opportunity to travel outside of the UK to experience a variety of cultures and work within a hospital, as a health care assistant, to develop our skills and experience the diversity of a new country and to enjoy all of the aspects that this entails.In June 2009 we feel this would be a very beneficial opportunity to further enhance our knowledge and develope as nursing practitioners, and possibly to prepare for a future career in Australia, in particular. We would very much appreciate it if anyone would be able to help us and give us some information regarding my request and also if you can provide information on any onsite accomodation.

The university should be able to assist in hospitals etc in Australia that do exchange support. More than likely the hospital will be able to help with accommodation also
