OU advanced degree-study before?

Hi-

I was just accepted to the OU second degree program. I was wondering if there was anything I can do now to get a start on the program. I have a year and really no medical background. Read other posts about the exam questions? Any insight?

Lisa, if you don't have any more school to do try taking a medical terminology class. Most comm coll have one. We had to learn it by self study from a book. We had till end of 1st semester. I wish I had known it when I started. It helps to know what the prefixes/suffixes mean. Can you get a job in a hospital as an aid? Or just do some volunteering. I didn't have time and I did fine but since you have the time... Make sure you have money for lots of ink/paper. There's a ton of stuff to print out.

I work full time right now, have a 13 month old and am 5.5 months pregnant. I can not afford to leave what I do now until I start the program. I was just thinking of trying to learn some things before school. I do have to take the three nursing classes this spring/fall too. I will be on maternity and hoping to get some free time.

Thanks again for all the info.
