So I had orientation today for about four hours. It was alot of information, and I found out that we won't have clinicals til week four, nor will we have our Pharm or Funds lab time til that time. We will have what they call "Super Sized" lab for three Fridays where everyone shows up to learn the basics, then around week four, we will start our regular labs for Funds and Pharm and our clinical will begin. We will have five weeks at a hospital and five weeks at a LTC facility. MY CLINICAL LOCATIONS ARE ALL LOCAL (FOR THIS SEMESTER, ANYWAY)! WOOHOO!!!!!! Clinicals will be eight hours. Our program started a mentorship thing this year so the second year students will be mentoring the first year students. As for attire at orientation, there were people there in dresses, shorts, flip flops, jeans, sneakers, all types of clothes. Some people were even almost an hour late. The Dean of Health Sciences said that only about half of us would graduate, but of those, the NCLEX pass rate has been 100% for two years now. So excited to get this journey started! Been a long road to get here.
