few opportunities

i wonder why the Philippines is having a 2 year vocational course, 6 months caregiving.... well infact their are a lot of filipino nurses who are unemployed and nursing students whom wished for a better future.... and for the fact that it is those practical nursing who are immediately accepted in the work, to think their knowledge and skills are not that much than those whom studied nursing.... and during our duty i have noticed that there is only one nurse on duty and about 2-3 practical nursing.

and as i have witnessed that scenery i am worried for my future, because i might or will become one of those unemployed nurses; whom studied for four years and spends a big amount for the course and in the end i might or will become UNEMPLOYED, or might be EMPLOYED yet recieving too little salary which is not enough for our daily needs.:crying2:

:yeah:this is FACT,, no JOB after finishing the course i bet you that,, even volunteer nursing you have to wait for a several months before you can start and sometimes you need to pay the institution/hospital just to be a SLAVE,, over production of nurses because of GREED of people to money :down:and GOVERNMENT non-regulation of nursing school and nursing students population:angryfire the main reason why NURSES are unemployed and we can also add up the Global economic crisis and retrogression. And still thousands of thousands are studying NURSING goodluck to future BUM nurses.

I believe these courses are intended for those who wanted to work abroad. Caregivers have work opportunities as nanny in Hongkong, Taiwan and Canada. They really don't expect to build careers here in the Phils.

Let's not forget that we have chosen this profession. Let's not put all the blame to our government nor the crisis and retrogression we are experiencing right now. All of us don't want these things that are happening, in the first place.

I just hope for the better in the future, for us nurses.

Gudluck to us all.
