Online statistics course?

Thomas Edison State College (TESC) has a statistics course called Statistics for the Health Care Professional. I believe it is taught by nursing faculty so it may be worth checking out. Thomas Edison State College - A national leader in distance education

I just completed the online stats course at College of Marin (California); there is a lot of information about it online (Math 115).

I kind of suck at math, but the format--using an internet system called ALEKS--was totally doable.

That said, doing a math course over the internet takes a lot of self-motivation, planning, and organization. Make sure you are up for keeping on top of the work daily, or it will bite you in the ass.

Also, one drawback AND benefit of this class is that you are graded on the number of "modules" you complete and for which you are "Assessed". That means that if you do problems for and are tested on at least 90% of the material in the course, you'll get a B, no matter how many times you have to take tests to get there. The system gives you a test after every ten hours you log online. The "danger" is that if you're up to 80% done, and you miss a problem related to early material on a test, the ALEKS system will "send you back", and you have to demonstrate that you actually do know how to do the problems. I know all this sounds confusing, but it's well explained on Dr. Lansing's homepage.

I can't say you'll enjoy it, but you CAN DO IT.

I've never taken one of their online courses, but I've taken classroom courses there and thought they were excellent.

I know I'm answering this back kinda late... 4 years haha

But I have a question about the stats course - was the entire thing online? tests, quizzes, everything?

I'm trying to find an online course - a lot of the ones I keep finding require proctored exams! and I am traveling A LOT this summer, so totally online would work much better for me.

I took Statistics through the UCLA extension. No proctored tests, entirely online (although there are ways that online exams can be proctored). It was a tough class, but definitely doable if you're self-motivated. I believe it was a 6 week course.
