I am just about finished with my pre-req's and was wondering if anyone had some input about the online nursing programs. I have done all but 1 class online. This has been beneficial to me, because I get to stay at home with my daughter. It has been a long road. I am in AZ and I found out that if I lived in Illinois (my parents live there) I would have probably been done with the program at the same I will be starting it here. I only have 2 more classes to finish. Does anyone know of the wait time. I also have seen that they have changed some of the pre-req's. Are there any Southern Illinois nurses out there that can give me some information on the nursing program and jobs. This would be around Harrisburg, Marion, Mt Vernon Illinois.

I can't help you with the job questions, but there are several online nursing programs. If you are referring to a BSN program I believe you will still have some clinical rotations or competencies to perform. I would go online and google Nursing + online to see what you get. The Univ. of Phoenix is popular, but expensive, and many "home" schools are offering similar programs. By "home" I mean schools that are local to your area. I got my MSN from Univ of Texas and paid less tuition because I am in state. But I had classmates who were out of state. Just be sure you understand how much is online and how much is not.
