One more week of freedom....

My second semester starts next week. I am excited to get back into the swing of things, but I have really enjoyed my 4 week break.

What can I expect for the second semester of an ADN program? I looked at our schedule and it looks like we are covering the exact topics we did last semester. Will be going more in depth with those concepts?

Also, for those of you that are further along, did you think the first or second semester was harder?

i would hope they would go more in depth :)

i think first semster is def. harder bc u are getting the hang of everything. NS is so diff. from anything else ive done academically.

good luck :)

Well I'm in a part time program...so I'm going into my 4th semester. We did fundamentals in the first 2 semesters and med surg the 3rd semester...now we are going into our OB rotation. I agree with the above that the first is the hardest bc you don't know what ur getting into. I now have a good understanding of the test formats and basic nursing. I'm a little nervous about the upcoming semester though bc it's not the same as adults. I have averaged B's thus far and hope I can continue! I start back Jan 11 for another year of stressful hair pulling adventure, but it's so rewarding!

Thanks for the advice! :)

Hi I start my 2nd semester next week too. On my birthday none the less! I am excited to be going back because I havent quite known what to do with my self over the last 4 weeks. I mean there is only so much you can clean, bake, do fun reading etc. I really feel like I should be working on homework! lol I am nervous for this semester because we are doing maternal child nursing and med surg but our clinicals are in an LTC facility and at the psych hospital. Good luck with your next semester!!:nurse:
