On my own tonight!

So I'm finishing up my third month in the NICU, still on orientation (we have a lot of extra staff since we're opening a second unit soon, and I think they're trying to avoid cancellations). I'm supposed to be on orientation for at least a few more weeks, but I got a call today at 3 p.m. from the NM asking if I could work tonight. I was able to reschedule my day tomorrow...so now here I am with two kids of my very own -- one with PPHN and IVH, and one with an encephalocele.

Past the halfway point of the shift now...hopefully all three of us will still be alive in five hours :uhoh21:
