On call advice?

I'm starting a new job where I will be on call 1-2 days per week. And wondering if anyone has any advice for how they work it? Sleeping tips? Organization tips? Always keep scrubs ready to roll and a lunch to grab?

If I am on call I treat it as if I have to work. I wake up at the same time, eat a meal, make sure I am showered and clean. I often don't go anywhere, but if I do - I take a bag with my uniform, money for food, and other work essentials, and make sure it isn't too far away from work, or anywhere where I will be busy for some time. I also keep my phone on loud and make sure to check it frequently. I don't sleep usually, as I'm afraid I won't wake up.
