is 44 too old?

Absolutely NO!! When I graduated from my ADN program, one of my classmates was 58 and had done it "just to show I could do it". She thought she wouldn't even use her degree and was just proving to herself she could get the degree. Well, she did work. I will be 40 when I finish assuming I get accepted within the next year. I do not think you are ever too old to do what your heart desires if you have the physical capability to do so.

No way is that too old! If you feel you can finish in your heart...Do it!

I am currently in my first semester of anesthesia school and one of my class mates is 53... We graduate in 2008! Super stoked and her daughter may even try to go to nurse anesthesia school next year. It can be done. There is a lot to be said of older age and knowledge!

Thank you for the responses. I definately don't consider myself too old to learn. If anything I'm a better student now than I was in my 20s. My concern is if the people interviewing applicants and awarding entrance into programs agree. If everything else was equal, would the administrators award the position to a younger student, who theoretically has more years to offer the profession?
