Hey out there in Ogden....or Utah :wink2:

So my lovely husband told me he wants to move to Ogden ....well, that is fine with me:yeah:. However, I have no idea about it. Is there anyone in the this wonderful country who has any knowledge about nursing in this town? Yes, I am an RN (BSN) and I have an MBA in addition. I have been working in Dallas, TX for....ever. I just don't know where to start.

I'd appreciate any information.

Thanks for reading my little blog

Here's a couple of places to start. Mckay-Dee hospital-check out ihc.com

Ogden Regional-an hca facility. Both are fairly large hospitals. If hospital nursing is what you're after, this should help.

I am sure with your experience and your MBA you will have no trouble finding a job.

My friend who also is a BSN,MBA has a nice job doing some admin work for the operating rooms - although she did mention that she took a pay cut moving to Utah.

I am just being nosy now- why Ogden? If you are interested in SLC the University of Utah has many options for nurses with your background. Keep us posted and good luck!!

Ah yes...Ogden. My dearest love :redbeathe read about and reasearched several smaller towns in the US to raise a little one. He came up with Ogden and a few other options.

I am a mountain girl :D and thought.....well, this one reminds me of home (Salzburg, Austria). So therefore...I am now researching what my options are up there in the cold North  LOL.

Thanks everyone for your input! :yeah:

It is a very nice place to live - and, of course, since you love the mountains you will be in heaven! One of the nicest things I find living in this area is that nearly everything is kid friendly. Good luck finding the job you want -

Hi Mani!

Well let me start by saying Odgen is a great place! I can definately see why it made it onto your husband's list. Within the last year I moved to Utah from California. I am a fan of the HCA facilities that fall under the MountainStar Division, Ogden Regional is one of them. I also had a lot of help from a great Nurse Recruiter. Just google her if you want some help. Her name is Kirin Krebs.

Otherwise I wish you luck with the move! One thing you will definately love out here in Utah is the lack of humidity! No more frizzy hair. Plus there are some really nice people.

Good Luck with everything!:)

My inlaws live in layton and my husband is from there. I was researching jobs there and it looks like a huge pay cut from texas to utah. As I am also from texas, utah may be seeing us in the near future. We are actually going to be there during christmas. It is definately beautiful there, as that was my first thought when we visited but as he was raised morman, but doesnt' practice it, and that seems to be the main religion there, are there any disadvantages to nurses who are not morman.

I would guess the % of Mormon to non- Mormon ratio would be about 50% in Ogden. I don't think you'll find any disadvantages not being a Mormon in the workplace. But I guess you never know how your boss is going to be. :D. Seriously though, any discrimination in the workplace could get someone in a lot of hot water. I've never noticed any problems, though.
