Official Pass Letter

Published

Hi everyone, this is my first time posting. I just wanted to ask everyone when they received their official pass letter? I need it by this week for my job, and I am getting nervous that it won't come in time. I am getting licensed in Illinois. I tried calling Continental Testing and I keep getting a voicemail. Does anyone know any way that I can get it sooner? Or do you know how the process works?

THANKS!

If you have a license number issued then employers can easily verify your license online or by contacting the BON

Thanks. I don't have my license number yet. I just received the unofficial pass score from pearsonvue. My job requires me to have the official pass letter/ application. This will allow me to work as license pending.

well that doesnt seem to make any sense...once you get your pass letter you wont need to work as "pending" nurse...you will have your license wont you. You dont get a pass letter from pearson only from your BON and once you recieve it you will have your license #

Hi SShannon81,

I only got the "unofficial" pass from pearson, via the quick results. After about a week or so I should be receiving an official pass letter and application to get my license. The process takes awhile to get my actual license. I think that after I send in the application plus the 50 dollars, I will get my license number. The whole process is pretty silly.

My job just requires a copy of my official pass letter, because technically I don't have a license yet until they process the application... therefore it is license-pending.

what state are you in where you have to pay to get your number.....that just sucks

Haha... right??

I live in Illinois. Good ol' Illinois. I paid nearly 300-400 bucks all together for this license (including applications and fingerprinting)

You know here in Ohio I shopped around on prices for all the stuff I needed to get a license.

I paid postage for my application. I sent it myself.

75 to OBON

200 to pearson vue

55 for background and finger printing federal

That was all I paid

You take your boards and they will post your results online (board of nursing)

then they send you a certificate with your number. You dont pay extra for it. Dont why it would be different in other states
