OB...I'm in Trouble...

Published

Looks like I have dug quite a hole for myself. I'm getting ready to pick up my first exam, and I'm certain that I failed it quite badly. How bad? Right now, if I got a 70-74 I would be relieved, and that's not good. Realistically, I think lower 60's is very possible. Anyway, here's my dilemma...there are two exams left, one paper (10% of final grade) and a final exam that weighs 30% of the final average. *If* I bomb this thing (which is probable) at a 62-64% I'm considering dropping OB, retaking it in the Spring. By doing so I can concentrate on keeping my B in Med Surg and focus solely on OB in January. Now, I really hate to quit anything, but I think it would be a smart move. It would EXTREMELY stressful to start with a big hole and the pressure would be huge just to get mid or upper 80's on the next two exams.

By the way, I studied for this thing. My problem, looking back, was trying to digest everything in the assigned reading. From now on, I'm taping lectures and rewriting/studying notes the night after class. I tried to pile everything up until 4-5 days out and could not process everything.

Anyways, anybody have and advice or great come-from-behind stories to share? I really could use a little optimism these days.....

I think you should wait to see what you got.. Come back and let us know what you got and then make some decisions =) Don't worry- I'm like you. I try to plan everything out for the "worst case possible"

Well, the verdict is in, and it's almost as bad as I thought. 66% was my result. We have 70 plus students in our class, 1 made an A and about ten or so made B's. The rest were C-F. I might as well try to stick it out until the next exam. If i can make an >84 it puts me right at the pass/fail line. Anything under 75 or so doesn't help at all.
