While I am stredding about work.......

I did an admission on wednesday. We have 5 days to hand our admission in. I had ot see the patient again on friday, then my supervisor said she wanted to see it before i handed it in because I am just off orientation. Well, I got stuck out, and she was gone on her visits for the day. So now I have the whole admission (papers, not computers) Work reopens on tuesday. I honestly don't know if it is a company policy or a medicare regulation. But the admission is done, I received verbal orders from MD, everything is completed. It's just a matter of the office doing whatever they do with the paperwork. And no body is there until tuesday.

I am just paranoid and i don't want trouble. But I remember my preceptor was looking at another set of paperworl and it was handed in one day late by her, and nothing happened.....

OASIS data collection rules dictate that you have five days from the SOC date (which is day 0) to collect all of the information required to complete the OASIS SOC assessment. Your office rules on when to turn it in are just that--their rules. You can't be expected to turn it in if the office is closed, unless your agency has an outside drop box. And even if they do, no one is going to see the paperwork until the office reopens again on Tuesday anyway. No worries.

Thank you for the peace of mind. And if SOC date is zero, then I will only be one day short with the holiday.

My OASIS is signed and completed for the day 0 actually, as is my SOC narriative. So hopefully I won't be in much trouble and if I was going to be, my preceptor probably would have called me in the field about it.

I have to stop worrying so much.
