Hello...im new to this but...To answer your question...I Just got offered a job at nyu medical center...the base pay for new grads is 68,000 and night differntial is 5600. So if you apply there as a new grad u will be making about 73,000 a year because they only higher new grads for night shifts for the first year. I start on march 19th im so excited!! If u have anymore questions send me a private email.

Thanx!

Yes the base pay includes degree differential because they only higher BSN graduates since it is a magnet hospital.

From what i understand, "magnet" status does not mean that the hospital only hires BSN students. I know of magnet hospitals that hire BSNs and ADNs. The preference of hiring only BSN students is usually the policy adopted by the institution.

Okay... I guess you misunderstood what I wrote.... that isnt what I meant, But thanx for clearing it up for everyone else!

The base pay is like 65,8? (between 65,5 and 65,8, i went to their open house last week) ... plus bsn of 1300, plus shift differential of 5600. I also posted that I heard if you work overtime on certain units - 3 shifts overtime/month = 1200 bonus on top of time and a half, all before taxes though. still nice.

Hey I'm set to start NYU's accelerated 2nd degree nursing program in January to get my BSN by next May and am chomping at the bit about paying for it. I've been accepted to a couple other programs in CT (at Quinnipiac and Fairfield) and trying to see if the NYU price tag is worth. Any grads have any thoughts on this one?
