Thanks! Hope to see some of you in class next term.

And you'll prob be hearing from NYU in like 2 weeks. You should call to check your application too.

anyone get their acceptance letters or rejections:(?

Hello...I've been lurking for a few months and this is my first post ever. I received my acceptance letter to NYU's 15 month program starting in January about a week ago, and have been going nuts trying to get all the proper bloodwork, immunizations and BLS training in order. I'm very stressed, but even more excited.

Tell me about it. I was really stressed about the immunization thing too. It took them like a week to get back to me on when it's due. I doubt ther'es really a due date. and NYU offers FREE BCLS certification, so don't fret. I'll prob see you in class. :)

Still have to go buy the scrubs and pick up the nursing supplies soon too. another hassle and they don't really give instructions...! go nyu!

Hi! Congrats on your acceptance! I also received an acceptance letter about a week ago and now I'm waiting to hear back from financial aid. I'm hoping that NYU will help a little bit with the fees as it is going to be a huge financial burden. Did you receive any grants, scholarships, etc? Despite some of the initial stresses like $ and immunizations, I'm really excited to move to NY and get stared. It's approaching so soon! Are you living in NY already or are you going to be making a similar trek? (I'm moving from SF) I'm really interested to hear what others' backgrounds are going in, like first degrees, employment, etc.

I introduced myself in an earlier NYU thread but my first degrees were in English and Interdisciplinary Studies from Berkeley and I'm currently working as an Anesthesia Technician at the UCSF Medical Center.

Congrats again and I'm eager to meet all of you come January.

Suzy

Congratulations to you as well, Suzy, and best of luck with the scholarships/grants/aid. Your prior hospital experience is a huge plus, I'd imagine. I will be relying on my savings and loans--pretty stressful!

My BA in English is from Barnard and I've been working in publishing for the last 15 years. Nursing will be my second and hopefully last career. I admit, I'm a bit intimidated right now but I'm really looking forward to the challenge come January.

Will you be using student housing? I live in the East Village, near the school--lucked into my apartment after college when it was in an unfashionable area.

I'm looking forward to meeting you and everyone else.

Glad I found this thread! I applied to NYU for Spring 2008 and I am still waiting to hear. I called them on Friday and the admissions person said that they "haven't made a decision on my file yet" and that I should hear in roughly two weeks. At least I have finals studying to keep me busy while I wait!!

I am from the San Francisco Bay Area (live in Lafayette) and got my BA in Spanish. I will keep you all posted as to the decision. I hope to be joining you two in New York! We will see.
