Nursing School Interview

Published

Hi nurses,

First time user, hopeful future nursing student. I don’t know if this is the right area to ask and if it isn’t, please let me know!

I have an interview coming up and one of the members of the committee suggested I speak to a nurse about what it’s like to be a nurse before coming in for the interview. Unfortunately, I personally don’t know any nurses so I thought I’d come to you guys for help! These are questions I have and I’d highly appreciate the input!

Why did you decide to become a nurse?

What does a job of a nurse entail?

What do you find rewarding about this career?

How do you handle the stress of being a nurse?

How has nursing impacted your personal life?

What if the most difficult part about being a nurse?

What are some goals you have in mind at the beginning of your shift to ensure it goes smoothly?

If you have any other suggestions, I’m open to them! Thank you!

I hope your nursing interview went well and you are currently in a program and thriving! I am replying to you post because I am now in the exact same position and I don't know what to expect or how to prepare! My first interview is tomorrow and my second one is Friday! If you could give me any tips or advise I would really appreciate it!
