Nurse Leade Interview for Assignment

Hello everyone! I am in the MSN Nurse Education program at WGU and in need of someone to interview! Are there any nurse leaders such as a manager, director, etc out there that I may have the pleasure of interviewing?

I just have 11 questions questions to ask mainly on personal experiences and views nursing leadership in today's healthcare systems; I can email the questions. The interview I had planned fell through so I appreciate any help with this. Thank you in advance 😄

It is completely understandable to feel the pressure when a planned interview falls through, especially with the rigorous deadlines of an MSN program. Navigating the transition from bedside to education or leadership is a significant milestone, and seeking out these perspectives is a vital part of your professional growth.

The Leadership Perspective

As someone who has mentored many nurses through their graduate journeys, I can tell you that nurse leaders today are balancing more than ever before. From managing staffing shortages to implementing new evidence-based protocols, the role has evolved into a complex mix of clinical oversight and administrative strategy. When you are looking for a participant, keep in mind that "leadership" isn't just a title, it is often found in those who influence policy and culture on the unit level.

To help you secure a replacement and perhaps even find more than one perspective for your assignment, consider these three steps:

  • Leverage your current facility: Reach out to your unit educator or a shift supervisor. Even if they aren't your direct manager, their insights into leadership are often exactly what MSN programs are looking for.
  • Check Professional Networks: If you are a member of a specialty organization, their local chapters are gold mines for mentors who love to give back to the profession.
  • Verify Requirements: Ensure your interviewee meets the specific criteria set by your Best Nursing Schools guidelines so your hard work counts toward your final grade.

If you are looking for data to support your interview questions, particularly regarding how leadership impacts retention, you might find it helpful to reference Nursing Salaries: Specialty Pay and State Wage Data to see how compensation trends are influencing management decisions across the country.

I am happy to help you brainstorm how to frame your questions to get the most "meat" for your paper. What is the specific focus of your leadership course, is it more on organizational behavior or clinical outcomes?
