Hello
Anyone out there applying to nursing schools for Fall 2017?
I am applying for CSUSM ABSN, Grossmont ADN, Palomar ADN, and Mira Costa ADN. Anyone want to exchange info and discuss about their applications?
Thank you,

I too am applying for Fall 2017. I've got 2 applications out: FRCC Larimer and DSoN. It's awful and stressful and I hate it and I would just like to know! LOL.
How are you holding up?

I am actually in TX I have applied for the Fall of 2017. I am not sure where you are residing. I actually was awarded with an Associates of arts my route is striving for a BSN. Unfortunatley, I do not know what my chances are with so many applicants I am afraid it will set me back. I am hoping I will get good news from either program I applied to. Do you have a previous degree? Also have you tested and if so which exam was required for your admissions?
JD2RN - That's awesome! Good luck to you!!
Soon2b1Nurse- SPC? Ooh Florida?! I'm excited for you!! Sending positive vibes your way!
Sallyturcios - I would think an AA would be benefit you in terms of working towards a BSN. Did you apply to a total of 2 BSN programs? Only in TX? I am applying in California. I have a BS in Phblic Health and the schools I'm applying for require the TEAS exam. How about you? Are you finished applying and what exams were required?

I only hold one degree which is my first degree. An Associates of Arts and yeah, that route I took was initially because I wanted to set out for some higher level of education. Actually exploring the possiblilites there are many ways of pursing a nursing career. Starting of with question if your need for employment is urgent or is it for education , or how soon do you want or need it. Things I was not aware of til now either way working up the way I am intending or to have done it backwards. I feel that in my situation I would of preferred to become an RN first. Now I am pretty much competing with LVNs, RNs and general applicants like me:no:(to be a nurse and be awarded a bachelors). Not only that ,but I am not even a nurse yet ,which means I am unsatisfied because I want and would of liked to be a someone by now. I actually took the Hesi exam I was not really sure how this whole process worked (first time for everything!) til now and I am trying to find my way around. As there is an expiration on pre-reqs I am already a bit late and all and dont want to fall further behind. I applied to 2 programs here in Texas around my area ,but I have looked at other schools and programs. The problem is that I do not have the money to move or any transition of that sort. I may actually retest because we do have more programs down here, but they either require an additional section or the Teas exam. Schools typically want the exam done in one sitting. Besides this why are you changing majors or is it just for extras? What did you do with your public health major? How did you prepare for the teas and if you dont mind sharing your scores. I need to brush up to expand my chances. Its great that your applying to multiple schools:) I have completley applied to one school I am just waiting for the evaluatiom and the acceptance:) or denial:down:. For the other I still need to submit an essay and wait for admitance for further guideance. (You have to do what you have to do) put yourself out there I am wishing you good luck!!!
Yes!! Florida, did you go there? Im so nervous i have a 3.76 and im scared of not being accepted or something but there is always applying again! Next semester tends to be more lenient. We will see! God willing we wont be waiting until next semester!

April 15th is the first day I can apply for the Fall 2017 cohort of Lower Columbia College's RN program to get my AN. I'm incredibly excited. I took several years to get my prereqs done, because there were a few quarters where I could only afford to take one class at a time. I'm aiming to get into their Fall cohort, but wouldn't be disappointed if I was waitlisted or placed on their list for Winter 2018 start.
Atleast tgere is a waiting list, where im applying it's 450+ people apply, only around 92 are selected, 50 get on a possible swap out list if someone doesnt complete the admit packet by a certain date and the rest have to reapply!
Sallyturcios - I was looking to become and RN so that I can hopefully become a public health nurse in the future. Honestly, I was not doing anything with my degree. I was working for an ophthalmologist as a surgical technician. I received a 90 on the TEAS. I should have studied more but I kept putting it off Good luck to you! I hope you get into your first choice!
Soon2b1Nurse - No, I am looking to stay in California. It's so expensive to move out of state! A 3.76 is a great GPA! I'm sure you'll get in Wishing you good luck!!
thewhitechickoj - That's awesome. April will come quick and Fall is just around the corner! I hope you get into that cohort good luck!
