Nursing program at Forsyth Tech in NC

Has anyone been accepted into the ADN program at Forsyth Tech? I want to apply for Spring 09. I want to know about how many points I would need to even make it into the program. They would not tell me when I called. It would be nice to know so I can decide whether or not to find another school that I could get into. I only have 3 classes that would count toward my points, and I have not taken the TEAS test yet. When I called, they said about 150 apply, but only 72 would be accepted. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

That sounds about right, many people apply. I'm starting this August. I believe the range was from 140/150 to 180. That's including the TEAS testing score. Good luck!

Thanks, Lindsey. I am almost there, but not quite. I think after 1 more semester I will be okay.

I got all of my pre reqs done in two semesters, so it is definitely possible! And the TEAS isn't very hard either, as long as you know the basics. :)

The lowest points required depend on the students that are eligible for that semester. They take the top 72. I got in with 86 points for prereqs and 99 for TEAS for a total of 185. I don't know what the range was though. Sorry! All I can say is, do the best you can in pre-reqs.. shooting for A's, and do well on the TEAS and you should get in. Good luck!

Hey I was just checking to see if you got into the spring 09 ADN program?

Who specifically do you call to ask how many applicants are applying?

Sandra Suggs in admissions. She's been a huge help to me in figuring things out. She's really nice too.

Thanks- if you are calling any college though- do you call the college admission person or the nursing school admission #?

Anyone else applying to other ADN programs?

I think it depends on how in depth your question is. General admissions can probably answer a good number of questions, but when I have called with any questions that were of any complexity about the nursing programs around here, I was transferred to the nursing admissions person.

I have applied to Forsyth Tech's ADN program and am taking pre-req's there just because it's more convenient to work, but I also put an application in at Surry Community.

didn't even apply. There's no way I'd make it. I am going to apply for Fall. Has anyone taken bio 165 yet? i heard it's really hard to get into the class. Is that true? I have already seen my advisor, but I'm still worried.

Is it hard to get into Surry?

I'm applying for fall too. My advisor said it is really hard to get into the anatomy courses. I'm really crossing my fingers I got into 165. She said if there was any trouble I'd get a call on Monday from the secretary that enters the nursing registrations into the system. She said they enter them in the order of the time/date your advisor put on your registration. Is that what they told you? When did you meet with your advisor?

I don't really know much about Surry's current program. I know they use kind of the same points system FTCC uses. I would imagine it's pretty competitive since they only admit students to start in the fall and don't offer a spring option, but I don't know that for sure.

I saw my advisor Monday of this past week as soon as advising supposedly started. I was the first person she saw, but number 4 in her pile. So,evidently, not everyone had to wait til advising week. I really hope I get in to bio 165 because that's all I have left.
