nursing part time?

Just wondering how many of you work as a RN/LPN part time (as in 1 or 2 days) and have another part time job?

I've mentioned before that I want to minor or get a dual degree. I guess I don't want nursing to be the only thing I have due to the burn out, etc. I just want to stay fresh as far as nursing goes.

Any one work as an RN and a health care job or non health care?

When I saw "part-time" I thought you meant part-time. :D

I work part-time, 4 days a pay period of two weeks.

I am a stay-at-home mom the rest of the time.

My goal is full-time . . stay-at-home mom.

Opps, I see what you mean, I fixed it to 1 or 2 days!

In recent years, physical issues have limited the amount of clinical work I feel comfortable doing, but I have always 'worked full time' by having another job - usually health related, some even needing the RN license, but sometimes not.

The downside to not being employed full time by one organization is that you would miss out on benefits, pension plan etc. Part time at more than one job works for me, but I usually work as an independent RN and have my own 'benefit' arrangements in place. And, of course, promotion and career issues are affected.

Increased stress working with two diff. organizations can be an issue, but often not doing the same, rather stressful job, all week can be a sort of relief in itself. As my mother would say, "change is as good as a rest." Probably depends on your personal goals.
