I read about people taking the NC tests, but I really don't know what they are. Can someone please tell me where they fit into the student plan? Are they taken while your a nursing student, or as an entrance exam?

Sorry for being such a noob on this, I'm just trying to figure out when I need to start being worried.

TIA!!

It's the old name for the nursing exams taken by Excelsior College students. The curriculum changed last year, and so did the names of the exams. Are you an Excelsior student?

Oh Whew! No, I'm not an excelsior student. I thought the NC tests were something I just hadn't heard of, which is nothing new since I'm such a nursing noob.

I just started doing all my prereqs via ccconline, which is relatively affordable for me since I'm in CO. And if all goes as planned, I will be getting into MSU for their BSN program in Montana when we move in a year or two.

Thanks so much LunahRN, I can now happily go back to my worrying just about my prereq marks right now. Your awesome! :D

No problem! :D Many of us on the distance learning forum were or are Excelsior College students, so you'll see a lot of EC-specific stuff here.

You're lucky to get in-state rates for ccconline!! That is great. You're smart to get your pre-reqs done that way.

Say hello to Pike's Peak for me, if you can see it where you are ... we didn't get our annual vacation to Colorado Springs this year. :( Too much going on with school and being a new RN. I need my Colorado fix! LOL

I can see Pikes Peak, I'll wave at it for you! I'm in Pueblo (30 min south of CO Springs), and we go up into those mountains often. We have a jeep, so we load up the 2 kids and get nice and personal with the mountains. I can't wait to go up when the aspens change - absolutely gorgeous!

It's gonna be interesteing if our move goes through to Montana, their mountains are gorgeous too, but nothing compares to Colorado. :D

I've been through Pueblo a few times, driving up to the Springs from El Paso, TX. :)

My husband lived in the Springs for 10 years after he got out of the Army, and he loves it there. We're still trying to decide if we want to move to Oregon (my home state) or Colorado in a couple of years. We'll see! Depends on the housing market -- gotta be able to sell our house!

I know what you mean with housing market. We are going up to MT for 3 years, for a job my hubby will be running and we are just going to keep our house (which is actually 2 hrs north of Pueblo, we have an apt in Pueblo) and rent it out because we would not be able to sell it.

If I had a choice on where to move to live forever, I think Newport, OR would be at the top of my list. I absolutely LOVE Newport. We stayed there 4 months on a job in a little tiny 10 room motel that had the beach out our picture window. The motel had a private deck all the way to the water and the kids hung out their when their schoolwork was done. That was the best job ever just because of the location... oh and the fresh sea food.....mmmmm (we also have a sailboat, so I'm a bit partial to ocean water too)
