I'm starting nursing school in January and I was wondering what the best nursing apps are (App Store or Google Play)?

As a nursing student, because my program required us to use the Davis Drug Guide, I would normally use the electronic version. I'd usually get the most current version in book form so that I'd have that resource available when I would need it and in the book, they have a code for a complimentary year subscription to the electronic guide.
As stated above, Epocrates is a good (and free) resource. All my apps were for android because that's what my phone is. I have a couple of drip calculators, gtt timers (also good for resp rate counting too), an ABG calculator (or two), and so on.
Much of my work is saved on an online storage, so I have an app on my mobile to access that, and since most of those documents are in a Word format, I used an app to be able to edit those files as needed. Most of the time, though, my work would be edited on a normal computer. My mobile was available in the event that something went awry and I needed to show my work...

I used Facebook and Google Docs apps for group work. I used quizlet to get free flashcards others had made (you can search for them by topic). I used Omnio for the drug guide.
As you get further along you will need to know blood chemistry values, ABG interpretation, and EKG interpretation. I bought 'Instant ECG' which has good information but weird fake rhythms. So I wrote my own practice tools for these areas. They are here... Nursing Practice Materials
If you hit refresh on the these pages, new practice questions are generated, so you never run out.
Here are a few more written by someone else...
Medical Educational Tools
I also got ATI's RN Mentor app and NCLEX RN. These apps provide lots of good questions and rationales.
