Nurses Day

I am not combining CNA day with Nurses day in my facility. Instead I am going to meet with each group seperately and promote the idea that we have a day where the CNA's honor the Nurses and in Sept the Nurses honor the CNAs. I am thinking the aides could host a meal for the nurses and then do ice cream socials on shift for those who couldnt make the meal. Also I am thinking of having the nursing dept do a Silent Auction and a couple of fund raisers so that we have some funds to buy scratch off tickets and different little trinket style gifts etc. Maybe a large gift like a grill for the "Nurse of the Year" and the "CNA of the Year". What are your thoughts? What are some of the best things that were ever done for you or that you have done for this day that went over well?

Nurses week is May 6 - 12

CNA day is June 16th.

No need to combine them - they are already separated for you.

Yes. I guess I gave the wrong impression. It has been the history of my experience that they combine the days. For the nurses who have endured much longer and more stringent programs of study and are responsible to a much higher degree I feel they should be honored seperately.....and I feel it would be a team builder moment to have them all involved. Thank you for pointing out CNA day.....I was thinking it was September ??
