Nurse internship programs for summer

I am looking to apply for internship programs over the summer that are out of Michigan. Does anyone know any big summer programs out there that are looking for out-of-state nursing students for the summer to work? :)

Well...no. Certainly not in October. You may find summer externships cropping up somewhere around April, but usually those give preference to students who live and go to school in the area the hospital is located at. Frequently they are not advertised on the hospital website, but rather are communicated to the directors of the local nursing programs seeking out the best and brightest. You are probably already aware of how fierce the competition is to get one of these externships, as they often lead to a foot in the door for a job after graduation - another reason they would prefer to hire from the local schools. Often those who had the externship continue it through the school year or get hired on as a PCT for the remainder of the program.

Good luck.

The Mayo Clinic in Minnesota has a Summer III program for nurses and I know they accept a lot of out of state people.

Most hospitals do have them posted online now, i know Penn in Hershey has them posted because their deadline for submission is December 1st. Mainlin hospital has it listed and also Jefferson, not sure of any other hospitals though. But you want to apply as soon as you can so you can get everything in before the deadline.
