91% in NUR1 but failed CPE

I recieved a 91% in NUR 1 with all my exams, simulations and assignments, but was failed in my CPE. Any comments or suggestions? I also recieved excellent feedback from my instructor for my clinicals. How on earth can they make you do the whole semester over after making some alleged mistakes during the 20 min CPE? I know I am venting, but this seems so unfair. I am appealing to the second level after the dean of nursing turned me down. Why could they just make me remediate The wound care I failed?

Any suggestions would be appreciated, but no bashing please, I am low enough.

Thanks to all

It really depends what mistakes were made and if your instructors thought you would be safe at the bedside. Also, is it a for profit school? Is there a chance you could redo the skill?

I performed it in front of an instructor successfully earlier in the term in a check off, so I was able to do wound care in my clinicals at the hospital. I then went to an instructor 2 days before my CPE, went through it a few times and she said "you will be fine, you got it!" So I have done it twice in front of instructors, at the hospital, but because I stressed out for 20 min in wound care,I am out. This is a public state school.

I am trying to get a redo, but the Director denied my request.

You should edit out the name of the school. The nursing world is smaller than you think and you may be identified. You don't want one of your instructors to come across this post....

How do you edit? But to tell you the truth, I am sure I am a marked man there anyways and feel strongly that my situation is not right. This might alert other potential students what kind of non support they will be given.

Do they not offer repeat CPEs anymore? I graduated from this school and when I attended the policy was if you failed a skill during CPEs, you got a chance to repeat whatever skill you failed, plus perform two new additional skills, different from what you had the first time. If you failed the repeat, then you were out.

The Nursing program is VERY well-known in Central Florida. It's a very good program with consistently high NCLEX pass rates to prove it. I would definitely advise against posting any derogatory opinions if you plan to continue the appeal process...or attend another nursing school ...or work at a hospital in the County. As I'm sure you know, something like 60% of the nurses there graduated from this school, so it's definitely a small world.

In that case, you should edit it out of your post as well.
