NP Time Commitment

I hope this is an appropriate place to ask this question. I am a former Social Worker of 10 years finishing prerequisites in hope of being admitted to the alternate entry PMHNP program in Austin. I also am a mother of three, but not employed. My question is, what is the time commitment on a weekly basis during the average three year alternate entry program for an NP path. I know it will vary with each individual, but would you say it's 60 hours a week, 40 hours a week.....Thanks in advance.

Our school advises 3 hours per week of study for every one hour of class. Mine were online (so have to do more on your own)---In the semesters I carry 6 hours---I study about 20 hours a week....On exam weeks--that usually increases to 30-40 hours per week. To me-the writing courses are time consuming. Good luck...from another mom of 3!

I would agree with Blessedx3 with time commitment. I work 24 hours per and have 5 kids. I was able to complete the FNP program in 4 years, taking about 6 hours per quarter. You can do it!!
