np testing

Hi,

I went to take my FNP test today with AANP, very prepared, all areas, used Leik and Barkely and some Fitzgerald. I read thru all of it as well as CDs, then did tests with PSI and Leik. I felt like I knew my stuff. Then I started the test and I believe that I got the geriatric test, over 85 % of the questions were in Gero and some adult, no peds questions, no newborn, no maternity. Has anyone else had this happen to them? Did I just study the wrong stuff? I am going to call AANP tomorrow, but they may say "too bad." I am very sad and frustrated, have been a nurse for many years and felt blind sided today with the test questions. Thoughts?

That sucks. I am a PNP so obviously mine were all peds questions, but I do remember when I took the NCLEX many moons ago (1991) and I studied drugs, drug calculations, etc. because I was told to be prepared for that and not a SINGLE drug calculation or drug question. It was crazy. I was almost disappointed b/c I had spent so much time studying those.

I am wondering if it is one of those weird things where the computer generates the test questions randomly so they have no control over what questions are asked? Just a thought.

Good luck!!
