NP reference books

Hey Everyone!!!!!

Does anyone have great recommendations for NP school study aids during school and for boards after graduation?????

-Thanks in advance for suggestions:yeah:

I found Margaret Fitzgerald NP resources were great. I came across her resources after hearing her speak at an Illinois APN conference. She has a myriad of resources but I believe the one I used the most was a comprehensive review for boards. I used it for NP program review for tests as well as review for certification.

Additionally, my program utitilized Uphold & Graham Clinical Guidelines for Adult Nurse Practitioners. I still have it at my office for quick reference.

Specializes in ACNP-BC.

Which specialty is your NP program? I did ACNP, and I found Sally Miller's review course (comes with a booklet) very helpful. Also, I bought Thomas Barkley's audio tapes/booklet to also help me study for my ACNP exam...and his study guide was so awesome too! I really wish I had bought those 2 during NP school, because it really breaks things down into simple terms, and also highlights the most important pieces of info to know about each disease.

For the FNP, I studied Fitzgerald's latest edition on the certification exam review. That's all I studied and I passed the test with no problems. When I remember, I use this as a reference as well.

Someone told me that a lot of his test questions in school came directly from that book (lazy professors)! I didn't get that lucky!
