NP Practice EMR

Hello,

I am in the process of getting my own practice up and running and the thing I am having the most trouble with is finding a reasonably priced EMR. I do telemed and need that capability as well as I need escribe capabilities. It's a very small practice with even smaller revenue, so please let me know if there is anything you can recommend!

Officeally is affordable. I use Practicefusion and while I like it, if I had to do it over again, I would use officeally due to costs and billing/administrative functionality.

Not sure about the cost, but during clinicals I used AthenaOne by AthenaHealth at a private internal medicine practice.  It is fairly simple to use and intuitive.  Might be worth checking out.

Yes, I used athena while I was employed in a private, very successful practice. They had to change due to cost issues, it is 7% gross income which could be hundreds and eventually thousands a month. Thank you though!

Thank you! Can I pick your brain a bit? I am self pay so do not really need the billing aspect, and the two big things I need are telehealth capabilites (I am a telemed business) and escribe because that's just so much easier.  How would you say they compare

Just kidding, I looked more into it, and it does look affordable so I thank you for the tip! Not sure why my old practice told me that was the reason. I appreciate the tip!

Hi Holly,

I like Intake Q due to the forms and customizability. I signed up for their Practice Management package which is $75/month.  At the time I signed up they were working on RX capability so I ended up signing with MD Toolbox to prescribe. Fast forward 3 months after my signup and now Intake Q uses Rupa for prescribing which I have not used. Their customer service team is super responsive and have held a couple of tutorials with me.   I also like Intake Q because it integrates so well with other features I use such as FullScript, Zoom and SR Fax.  And Reimbursify which I have an account integrates with Intake Q.

For context, I've worked with mostly Epic. For better or worse I'm use to it and was bummed that I couldn't purchase it for my small private practice. I've used Cerner, Meditech, Athena, ECW and a few others I can't recall. My friend loves Kareo. I'm in an entrepreneur clinician group (mostly NPs and MDs) and the majority of us chose Intake Q but I've also heard great things about Charm, Luminello and Practice Fusion.  It also could depend on your practice focus and may want an EMR that tailors to your practice specialty needs.

Good luck everyone!

Thank you so much! after meeting with about 8 EMRs, I have chosen to use Kareo. It's decetnly affordable at 165 a month, and I am excited to see how it goes. I signed a 1 year contract so fingers crossed I love it!

Hi Holly,

I'm crossing fingers and toes for you! I did hear great things about Kareo so I'm sure you'll have a great system!

Sincerely,

C
