Hello,
I am currently living in Alaska and would like to leave the state and to earn my RN license. My question is a bit vague, but does anyone have any suggestions for me? I am not feeling very particular about which state I move to, but I am feeling drawn to earning an ADN rather than a BSN. Has anyone had an exceptional experience at their school? Know of a hidden gem? Or know of a lemon I should certainly avoid? Any advice is greatly appreciated.
Thanks for your input.

there are so many choices for you. my main comment that I hope you hear is go for your BSN now. I earned my ADN 4 years ago and am just now getting back to school to bridge. If you are in a situation that requires you graduate and make money fast, I understand as that was what I needed to do. But, if you can squeeze out a couple more years now and get the BSN, you will be thankful later. nursing school is not a fun time (most often) so the support from your friends and family will be essential. moving to a new place and starting nursing school may pose a challenge. if you feel you will thrive in a new environment and can afford to live modestly on your own, go for it and pick a place with great weather, great tourist sites! I live in Dallas and it's not that spectacular lol. maybe the northeast? big beautiful trees, mountains. idk.

It might be good to consider where you're open to living, AND what the job market is like in the area.
Where I live, there's a really good junior college program (I'm in the local university program), but the job market sucks. So it really depends on what is important to you. Are you moving back to AK after your program, or looking at jobs where you graduate?
The community college here is Santa Rosa Junior College, just FYI, if you haven't found anything yet. It's really beautiful here, temperate, hilly, near the coast, Tahoe is 4 hours away, San Francisco an hour away, quite a nice place!
Good luck!
