Admittance to most community colleges are lottery based, all you have to do is meet the minimum requirement for consideration. For profit schools also have no wait list as they want your money now.

Yes. Here's a clue: the schools that run daytime TV commercials between episodes of Maury Povich, Jerry Springer and the Peoples' Court are not competitive and don't have waiting lists. They also tend to be of poor repute. Here's a list:

1. Kaplan College

2. West Coast University

3. San Joaquin Valley College

4. Brown Mackie

5. ITT Technical Institute

6. Everest College

7. Remington College

8. American Career College

9. Concorde Career Institute

Everest College is out of commission as of last week. As a matter of fact, it was reported today that Corinthian has filed for bankruptcy after closing the last of its campuses and a group of its former students have organized a class action lawsuit. So scratch that one off the list!

Sure, there are plenty of sketchy-as-h*ll for-profit schools that are ready and willing to take your money.

Go for it, and godspeed.
