Hey everyone,
I'm applying to both Charity & LSU BSN.
I know eventually I will need the BSN for advanced degrees, I'm really interested in NNP.
My mom was going through the Charity program and was entering NAC I when Katrina messed it all up.
I am not naive into thinking the ADN is easier or the BSN will pay more, I need to realistically know the benefits and down falls. I know for the MSN, I will need a year or two of clinical experience, but I am all about further education, though not to escape the essentials of nursing.
I have this idea in my head that starting out at Charity will work better than going straight for the BSN, so with the Charity ADN, I can do an RN-BSN bridge.
What I need to take:
Bios II & Lab
AP I & II, with labs
Microbio
Eng Comp II
Fine Arts Elective
Nutrition (elective more, or less)
Chem
Math Survery or College Explorations in Math - Charity Requirement
Intro to Sociology - LSU
What I have under my belt from UNO..
Computer Literacy
Eng Comp I
College Algebra
Bios I & Lab
World History I
American Government
General Psychology
Business Application Software (Office 2007, thought it would be interesting since I have it on my new laptop)
Fall 07 - 3.67; Spring 08 - 4.0
This summer I plan on taking my Bio II & Lab and PreCalc Algebra at delgado.
Fall.. Eng Comp II, AP I, microbio? chem? - don't really know about that one yet!
Help me out here! What advice do you have to give? Do you give preference to one nursing school over the other, or one I am not considering? What classes do you recommend or disadvise taking simultaneously?
Are you happy with your profession? What level of nursing are you in?
Where do you work? Do you like your job?
Did you ever wish you did med school or have time for the MSN or BSN?
I'm a sponge for information!!!!
Thanks all!!

if you go to charity, you could began working quicker and as you said earlier, bridge over to BSN or even RN-MSN. The hospital can then pay for you to bridge over.

If you're choosing Charity,,apply early,,,there is a wait/delay in getting in..
