Hello nurse friends!!
Working on my resume and a friend of mine said someone from the local hospital HR told his class that a paragraph about what you did in practicum is not needed--to keep that out. He said all that is needed is a list of clinical rotations (with the unit, quarter, and number of hours) and to write Practicum next to it and that is all.
Thoughts?

I am not sure I would take that advice--and most definitely would write exactly what you did. When you are a new graduate nurse, the clinical experiences are about the only thing as far as "clinical experience" that you have to showcase. And if in your clinicals you started 30 IV's, a difficult foley and did medication education--I would showcase that.
It may be worth it to speak to your academic advisor about someone on campus that helps with job searches. They can look at your resume and help you formulate it so it stands out.
Best wishes.
Thank you, I appreciate your response!! I think I will meet with an advisor.

A (very short) paragraph is much better than a list of rotations. It's a given that if you graduated an accredited school, you attended clinical.
Include things in your resume which set you apart from others and show that you are a good fit for the organization.
