I love my job, but my body cannot handle night shift. I switched jobs about 5 months ago and went from day to night shift. I figured my body would adjust to night shift, however, I was wrong. My BP has increased, can't stay asleep, increased migraines, and weight loss. Not to mention I feel like I am going into a depression, and don't feel like myself at all. I know I can't transfer to day shift on my floor for 6 years (seniority). But, you are able to transfer to another position within the hospital after 6 months. It is becoming more tempting to transfer to a day position( even if it is on another floor) as time goes on.
Any thoughts/suggestions?

Some people seem to handle the switch to night shift better than others.
Clearly your health is suffering terribly. Can you switch to day shift on
a floor that you think you will like working on?
Your body MAY eventually adjust and experience fewer problems, but
if I could switch to day shift in a job I could tolerate, I would, if I
were you.
