I am a nursing student and am leaning towards NICU post grad. I just want to know what everyone likes/dislikes about working in the NICU? what are is your typical day like in the NICU (if a typical day even exists)? are you happy with your specialty? what made you decide NICU? I am not sure my college offers a clinical rotation in the NICU, if they do would that be considered Peds or OB?
:bby:
thanks in advance!

Sophie, that's great to hear! If you review back in some older threads in this forum, you will find many threads answering these same questions! People may share here, but feel free to browse and you will find lots of answers that people might not repost again here. :)

I like that the patients do not talk back to you and the challenge of figuring out what is wrong with them because they don't talk back. I dislike that the parents are there to talk back to you (lol... well the overally obsessive and ignorant ones) and the fact that I participate in keeping a 23/24 weeker alive. It also sucks when a baby dies but who is a fan of death??? OB would be the rotation!
