Nicu cna

Anyone a nicu or peds cna? Wondering if it's hard to get into those units?

Hi,

I work as a NICU tech. It was competitive to be hired, but a very rewarding job. Any questions you have?

Did you have expierence before they hired you? Is it high stress working with tiny humans?

No, I very much enjoy it. It has many perks over being a CNA on a med/surg floor. However, as a nurse it would surely be more stressful than the work a CNA does.

I did have experience. Worked my way up the totem pole.

Nursing home, medical oncology, adult ICU, ER, and then I finally made my way into the Newborn ICU.

I'm not saying you need all that experience. I believe it comes down to how well you connect with your interviewers. You should apply.

It's an amazing place to work. I plan to stick around.

I'm interviewing for a PICU tech position on Tuesday! Any advice as far as the interview?

Talk about being up to date on the latest Disney movies ;)

How important it is to keep children safe and comfortable.

They may ask how you handled a difficult situation. They did for me.

Good luck, I hope that you get it
