2022-2023 NHSC Loan Repayment Program

  • Expert

Starting a thread here since I haven’t seen one yet - just noticed a credit pull a few days ago. Application still says under review.

I’m an NP, first year applying. Worried about credit - I don’t have anything in default but I did get behind on a few credit cards recently. Hopefully this doesn’t have an adverse effect on my application.

I got an alert they pulled my credit on 3/18, hoping that means they’re moving pretty fast this year. I’m a psych RN BSN and this is my first year applying as well. I wouldn’t worry about the credit pull, a history of defaulted loans is an automatic disqualification so I think it’s just a part of their verification process.

I hope things move at a faster pace as well! The thought of student loans coming out of deferment in May has me so nervous.

I just got an email that I’m a finalist for this year’s award cycle. I have to submit my intent to accept confirmation. No credit check that I saw on my report.

Mental health HPSA 13

I’m a psych NP and former NHSC scholarship recipient. Applied for the SUD loan repayment. I already have my X waiver and currently working with substance use disordered (suboxone) patients.

Good luck to everyone who applied :)

Congrats! So you were under STAR LRP?

Two of my colleagues received their finalist emails. I haven’t received anything and my app is still under review ?? I sure hope they are still working through the very long list of applicants. Good luck to us all!!

What program did your colleagues receive finalist e-mails? Are they FNP's?

  • No, the are both psych NPs, as I am…

I am an RN working in a mental health clinic with HPSA score of 15. I applied under the STAR LRP. My county overdose rate is above national average. I received my counter signature today at 2:30pm.

Hi all, I received an email a little over a week ago from HRSA needing some additional info on my license and then yesterday I received an email asking for my 90 day payoff amount on my loans. Still no COI email yet. Has anyone else gotten these emails from HRSA in the last week or two? My hopes are up because they asked for my payoff amount but trying not to get too excited.

I just received my "Confirmation of Interest in an FY 2022 Award" email!  I completed the Nurse Corp program last year and applied to Loan Repayment Program this year in hopes of paying the remaining amount.

I am a Pediatric NP working in primary care.

Credit check done March 14th

Confirmed my award/interest June 22nd!

Good luck to everybody!

I also received an email regarding my confirmation of interest in an FY 2022 Award for the NHSC LRP today 6/22/2022 at 4:00PM. I have not received any former awards. I am starting my fourth year as a psychiatric nurse practitioner.
