NHCC Fall 2016

Hi Everyone.

I am currently wait listed at Century, Inver hills #28, and NHCC with a composite score of 11.11. Century wouldn't tell me how many people are on the wait list, but NHCC told me about 20 are on the list. The NHCC nursing Advisor also told me that there won't be a an evening weekend program for the fall of 2016 due to school closings on Sundays, and a weekend clinical site closing as well so only the day option is available. I am really hoping I get a spot. For all I know I can be number 20. Do that many people actually prefer to go elsewhere? What do you guys think? Retake the teas or do you think I have a chance of getting a spot in NHCC?

Moved to our Nursing Programs forum for greater response rate.

I only applied to Century (11.2) and NHCC (10.9)...I was able to substitute a Gen Ed class for Chemistry on Century's application (completed all generals at NHCC where Chem was not required), so my score is a little higher at Century. I was denied at NHCC and wait listed at Century...so frustrating that you are not given a number. Sherry Hegstrom said they might be able to open seats to wait listed students by mid April. Have you heard of any others on Century's wait list and what the scores were?

Good luck to you!

I was told that for century there are 45 people on the wait list ranging from 11.33 - 10.94.

Thank you SO much for posting this!!! Makes me feel there is still hope! I'm not wanting to take the Teas 6 this summer!...

The teas 6 is for the fall of 2017, so in case we both don't get accepted we have one last chance to retake the teas 5 before they update the exam.

I know!...I took the Teas 5 several times and only got my score to 75...are you thinking you'll retake Teas 5 to improve your score? I don't know if I can!

Its always better to try. Nothing great ever came from just one try.

Try retaking the teas and studying, even if you just get a couple points higher that would put you on top of the wait list if you did end up getting wait listed again.

I likely will!...and I agree, a couple more points adds up quick in this situation! Sounds much better than studying for Teas 6! :) Too bad Teas 5 takers can't be grandfathered in! Mid April is only a week away!...hopefully we get in and don't need to worry anymore!

Have you heard anything yet?
