Hi everyone! I just recently joined the site. I was planning on becoming a firefighter through school but as I started EMT-B I really started to like the medical field. After much thought I am considering becoming a RN. I just had a couple questions such as, I work 40+ hours a week and paying my way through college will this make the schooling much more difficult? Will I be able to manage in nursing classes with this schedule? and what can i expect in nursing school? I looked through some of the threads hope I didnt repeat a question, if so my apologies. Any input or info for me would be greatly appreciated. :twocents:Thanks!

Many Nurses have worked fulltime jobs while going thru School. It can be done, are you single do you have any kids? Those can make it more difficult. Nursing school is tough and require a lot of studing. But everyone is different, I suggest you talk to an advisor or admission counselor at one or more of the schools in your area. also a lot of schools have waiting lists.

Good Luck

Well im almost 21 with no kids and a girlfriend. I just decided to get into the medical field. I'm really excited to start. I know it will be difficult at times but I believe the end result and what you get out of the job will be the ultimate payoff in my opinion. Thanks for the advice!
