Newbie needing advice on choosing a program

hope you all can help me decide. To get into a program I need to either:

1.) retake all of the core courses because it's been too long since I took them originally, and hope to get in, or

2.) enroll in an honors program and take extra non-nursing related courses and have a guaranteed spot in the program

With #1: besides being bored by retaking classes, it would take much longer, but I could take them at a junior college to save money

With #2: It would cost more because the program is at a private university. However, the program at that school is shorter so I would finish about 8 months sooner than I would at a regular BSN program.

(Background: I already have degrees and some medical school, but it's been more than 5 years.)

This is just my opinion but I'd go for the fast track if you can financially afford it. I know there are people that place a high value on their pre-req classes but frankly they didn't blow my dress up and even if they are old (my A&PI is 20 years old) if you need to refresh your memory on something its been my experience that the knowledge will come back pretty quickly. It just seems like such a waste of time and money, even if they are cheaper, to re-take classes that I didn't really think were that important in the big picture anyway.
