Has anyone looked into Fortis college for the lpn program? They just approval here in AZ and although they did call to try and get me to come in for an interview, I believe their tuition may be very pricey. I also checked the AZBN and saw Brown Mackie college is trying to get approval as well as ITT tech, for ADN programs. It seems these schools are popping up everywhere. Anyone have any thoughts?

I say the more the merrier! There are so many of us trying to get our license out there, and all these waiting lists can be very frustrating! I'm an LVN moving to AZ in May, hoping to get into one of the MCC programs for my RN. The school I chose here in Dallas for my LVN was a pricey private nursing school. I paid 18.500 for a 16-month nights/weekends program. It wasn't the smoothest school I've ever been to, but it did the job and I am now a nurse.
As long as there is a demand for nursing schools, there will be new schools. More power to them.

Its a good thing and a bad thing. There are soooo many students who want into school, just look at the 2000+ on the maricopa county community college waitlists! But there are only so many hospitals in the area to give clinical rotations and jobs to those students. And with any new school, there are kinks to be worked out, and those are usually worked out on the first few round of students. Plus private schools are expensive. No program is perfect, just go in with eyes wide open!
