Hi everybody my name is Andrew I'm a new RN. I graduated in Philippines on march 2007 then i came to US on June 2007. I took and passed my NCLEX-RN on Aug 2008. on nov 2008 until present i had my first job on a care home and rehab facility as an on-call. my goal is to work on a acute hospital but they hardly accept inexperienced RN. I am looking forward to a New RN training program. Can anyone help me or give me advice on what to do or where to go for a training? or how to get in a hospital? i live in Concord CA. i would greatly appreciate your help. TY!

Specializes in Med/Surg.

i dont know how close you are to ucla medical center but there are TONS of rn residency programs. google search rn residency in concord ca.

I'm sure it varies by region; I'm in the Northeast and hospitals here usually offer new grad orientation programs. You don't really qualify as a 'new grad', as you have been licensed for half a year, but then again, I've seen it done enough it's not really a problem.

How you come off in an interview may make the difference in landing such a spot, or not. Good luck to you!
