new to nursing

hello i am new to this site as well the nursing field (sort of) i am a physical therapist assistant and was accepted into nursing school to begin this fall. after 14 years as a pta im jumping from the pan to the fire and going for it in nursing! but i have a major concern:almost everyone i have been talking to lately says i am totally nuts for getting into the field! why are they so negative? is there something i just don't know about, i have worked in alot of different settings in health care, i would like to think i have seen it all (or at least most) of the good,the bad, and ugly. but i am really getting discouraged by all the negative responses!?! can anyone give me advise??? i am in the pittsburgh area & start ccac in august. please let me know thanks and have a great day!!!!

Congrats!! I'm sure you've seen your share of stuff after 14 years in the health care business.. Good luck in nursing school..forget about what everyone is saying..good to see some other Pittsburghers on the board!!
