New NCLEX Format

I graduate in May and know that there is a new format for the NCLEX that will be started in April of this year.

Has anyone found good study guides/courses that are specifically designed for the new format? We are at a loss. We have not had any help in starting to focus in this direction, nor have we started testing in the new format way.

We're really concerned and would like to be prepared when we graduate in May.

Any help would be GREATLY appreciated!!!

There is a book that does give you information about the new way of testing , Im not sure of the name, but know someone who has it. I looked through it but didnt pay it much attention becuase I knew I would be taking mine before the new format went into effect. It tells about the fill in the blanks, multiple answer questions and highest priority ot lowest priority questions. Which I did get on my NCLEX , but was told it was for research reasons if we got a new style question and did not count towards our grades.

My friend got her book at Barnes and Noble and found out about it by going to the NCLEX website. You might give that a try, or even call the local bookstores in your area, they may be aware of the new format and what books will be needed since they stock such an array of nursing material.

As a recent graduate (FEB.) and with the possibility of taking the boards in April, I was informed that the percentage of guestioning will be different, as well as questions on "complex" issues b/c LPNs on the entry level are taking on more areas of care than ever before. You can find out what specifics of testing at www.ncsbn.org. My advice is when you are able to prepare for the boards to stick to your study habits, get to know medications, procedures for patients, etc. and study those NCLEX Books, such as Saunders and Incredibly Easy by Lippincott.
