I am new to this, but learn quickly. I am a RN to BSN student looking for information related to pallitive care of the dying. I have experience as a hospice nurse and I thought this would be a good topic for an ethics paper. In the past I ran into situations that felt like the family was interested in speeding the pace of the death process. I would appreciate any feedback of personal experiences or great websites that provide ethical quideance with these types of circumstances. I am looking for professional journals because this is a paper for school. Thanks, EF

There was one family. They were mostly nurses themselves. I knew what they wanted. They each came from different states and the process was taking a laboriously slow turn. The patient was at the door for days. They began asking for MS more frequently though the patient seemed peaceful enough to me. It's not an unusual occurrence. Some actively dying processes are fast. Admitted to hospice today and gone tomorrow. Others take long long days. The families have accepted the death and they're ready to move on to the next phase and on to the business of living normally. The patient just has another timetable.
