Dec 10, 201015 yr Experts If you're an RN, be aware that all California acute care hospitals are legally mandated to obey nurse/patient ratio laws, so the ratios at Barstow Community Hospital should be good based on that alone. The community has quite a bit of poverty, because most middle-income and upper-income people would not live in Barstow if they had a choice in the matter. Barstow is a somewhat isolated town in the middle of the desert, and the rest of California regards it as a pit-stop where you stop for gas refills and potty breaks on the way to Las Vegas. There is a military base nearby.
