New Here, Intro

Hello, everyone!

I just discovered this wonderful place yesterday and I am addicted to reading the boards!

My name is Melissa and I am a mom to four (10,7,3,1) kids here in SW Pennsylvania. I have been interested in nursing since I had my first baby and I am finally deciding to get on with it already! lol

Easier said than done, since I missed the January cut off to apply for the nursing program at my CC for next fall. So I am planning on doing at least chemistry and algebra this summer and I guess I will have to get with an advisor about what other courses I can take prior to applying for the nursing program.

I can't wait until I can be more active on the board.. right now I am kind of in the waiting game.

WELCOME! I just discovered this wonderful website a month ago and I absolutely LOVE it. I must admit, I'm becoming quite addicted....so much so that it distracts me from schoolwork at times...but I still manage to finish up whatever I need to on time! :) Enjoy! And good luck with everything!!!

Welcome and congrats on your decision to pursue you dream. We have 5 kids, so I know how busy you are! It definitely takes lots of extra planning and work pulling this off with a big family, (I guess 4 kids is a big family these days!) but you can do it.

These forums are a great place to share your journey and find support and ideas from others who are in the same boat.

I too am new to this site and I love reading all of the posts. It's quite helpful to know that there are others out there with the same concerns as me.

I'm currently waitng for my acceptance letter into the Accelerated Nursing program at UNC. They won't send out letters until mid-March- mid-April. I've been on pins and needles waiting.
